I am vegetarian, and have been since I was a primary school student and we went on a school excursion to a fishery. I also try to follow a nutritious diet with all the food groups, and low in fat. When I was competing I saw a nutritionist. Before a big competition I needed to be very serious about my diet to ensure i had enough energy to race but didn’t put on excess weight I would have to drag through the water. For example I didn’t eat chocolate for 5 years, and before the Athens Paralympics I didn’t even eat my own birthday cake
